2019 Public Health in the Rockies

This session describes qualitative formative research conducted in partnership with Mesa County’s Quality Health Network (QHN) to inform design and implementation of the new Community Resource Network (CRN). Findings presented during the session will include barriers and facilitators to food insecure individuals’ enrollment in government food assistance programs and use of other food access resources, as well as primary care providers’ and staff members’ knowledge and attitudes related to food insecurity. We will also describe lessons learned regarding how to effectively collaborate with software developers to ensure research findings feed into system design.
