There are no representative data on suspensions and expulsions (S/E) in early care and learning settings across Colorado, although national evidence suggests that children are disproportionately removed according to their age, race/ethnicity and gender.  The Early Care and Learning Resources Study fills this gap, with preliminary findings suggesting that suspension practices are widespread and preventative resource utilization is low. Suspension and expulsion represent a critical issue for the behavioral health needs of children in Colorado.
