Through ELPASO VOZ, parents organize and use their leadership skills for the betterment of Boulder County. This program focuses on leadership within the community and familial wellbeing to create social change. Using Asset-Based-Community Development (ABCD) strategies, ELPASO has successfully given parents a voice and power to make a change. By allowing parents to be at the forefront of this work, parents have bought in and made this work their own. We will share best practices and hold conversations about community outreach vs. community engagement and what communities can do to practice authentic community engagement.
