Planning For and Instilling Health Equity: Adding a Public Health Element to your Municipality’s Comprehensive Plan to Solidify and Advance Public Health Priorities

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Public health professionals can work with local planning departments to adopt a public health chapter into a municipality's comprehensive planning document, which provides a long-term vision for a community’s future actions. Infusing goals aimed at reducing health disparities, and adding upstream policies that explicitly establish a link between traditional planning components and health allows communities to include public health priorities in decision making around the use of public funds, tax policies, and other pressing issues.
