2019 Public Health in the Rockies

This session explores successes and challenges in developing and implementing a health equity committee to advance equity in public health agencies and the community. To achieve real and effective change, it is critical to ensure the health equity committee itself embodies equity. The committee structure, membership, application process, training, by-laws, and member compensation are all elements to consider when the work requires changing historically inequitable structures and policies. Practical tools will be discussed and shared.
