Case interviews are foundational to disease control but are primarily conducted by telephone, and therefore are time and resource intensive. The Colorado Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence piloted an online survey to obtain case interview data for Giardia. We will discuss survey development, implementation barriers, and strengths and weaknesses of different approaches for contacting cases. We will also review our evaluation findings including data quality and completeness acquired using online surveys over phone interviews.
