Why is it so hard to engage underserved communities? You might be thinking, time! Budget! Access! But what we now know from brain scans is that a big hurdle is how our brain processes the discomfort we feel when we leave our familiar surroundings. In this session, we examine how the natural tendencies of the brain may actually be getting in our way despite our best efforts to be open-minded and reach out to new communities. You will leave with insights on how to work with your brain when you are challenged and a take away tool for practicing brain-based behaviors that build trust and improve connection.
